nobody can actually “help” a stressed person until he or she helps himself first. with what goes around each person’s life each day, one can’t help if he or she gets stressed and eventually burns out. now i do NOT want to come an inch close to burning out. admittedly, i know i am probably a meter close.. but that does not mean im going any closer! i shall fight till the end..!
anyway, there’s this book ive been meaning to read - if i can find the book though. it’s called The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz. it’s said to be a really good find. although i haven’t read it yet, i am strangely drawn to it.
since i haven’t gotten my grubby paws around it - yet - its hard to decipher as to what classification to put it.
from the reviews ive read on it, i could say it is some sort of how to [slash] feel good [slash] guide to life thing *shrugs*. however, even the snippet of the four agreements appeal to me. these are the following:
agreement 1
Be impeccable with your word - Speak with integrity. Say only what you mean. Avoid using the word to speak against yourself or to gossip about others. Use the power of your word in the direction of truth and love.
agreement 2
Don’t take anything personally - Nothing others do is because of you. What others say and do is a projection of their own reality, their own dream. When you are immune to the opinions and actions of others, you won’t be the victim of needless suffering.
agreement 3
Don’t make assumptions - Find the courage to ask questions and to express what you really want. Communicate with others as clearly as you can to avoid misunderstandings, sadness and drama. With just this one agreement, you can completely transform your life.
agreement 4
Always do your best - Your best is going to change from moment to moment; it will be different when you are healthy as opposed to sick. Under any circumstance, simply do your best, and you will avoid self-judgment, self-abuse and regret.

oh well.. i dont have much drive today. my head is really full, and aching. i think im about to burst. so much for relaxation. i guess i should try to apply what im saying and relax…
despite the fact that i took a 5 day break, it was no break at all. life was much happier when i was out of the radar.
