December 12 - 3 more days until I grow old. Okay, I wont exactly grow old-grow old, but my unica hija is turning 2!! Yey!! My, how time flies. It feels like it was only yesterday when I breezed through my labor pains while everybody else waited with baited breath because they thought I might suffer from cardiac arrest due to preeclampsia. Hehehe..pretty dramatic scene. But still, for all that pain one goes through during childbirth, occasions such as this make everything worth while.

And now, I am counting the hours. Even Sophie is excited. She keeps singing “Happy Birthday, Sophie!!”, “Happy Birthday, Sophie!!” Hehehe.. is that her way of making me remember that there HAS to be a something - even a little sumthin sumthin for thanksgiving - on her day? :) I doubt if she really gets the weight of the whole event. It’s just that her Auntie Kim has been teaching her to sing the song and been asking her what she wanted. Not that she has anything particular that she wants - I think. Hmmm..

You see, dhirrac and I came to an agreement that we would not be giving Sophie the same birthday that she had last year. That was different of course since that was her VERY FIRST birthday. But since Frankie turns 1 in February, we simply cannot afford to have HUGE celebrations for both of them in such a short time frame. Perhaps in the future, but now, it is just not possible. So we agreed that they would skip birthdays. Since Sophie had her first, Frankie would have his first. But this does not go on to say that we would not have anything at all. Oh No No NO NO NO. :)

Of course, we do have a little something in mind. This is what I plan to prepare/get:

Cake
Tuyok Manok [roasted chicken (?) not sure of translation]
Sinugbang Gusok [roasted pork ribs (?) not sure either]
Pancit [ehrmm.. Pseudo-spaghetti (?) tee hee...]
Drinks
Ice Cream

Now, I know it is not much, but I think that it is the thought that counts. Hey, we do have the cake! :D

I was planning to get Sophie new clothes since she has pretty much outgrown the ones she has now. Some have fallen apart, and some have faded and her shoes are well worn already. But then, I thought, maybe the ninongs and ninangs would get her new clothes? (Shoutout to ninangs and ninongs reading) So I have decided to wait until after her birthday and Christmas. But that leaves me with the dilemma of what to get her? Hmm.. I want to give her a bicycle. hehehe.. seriously! I know she would love it!!

But then again, we will just have to see. I wish I would have a DigiCam by then.
